I Took The Free Ayurvedic Quiz. Is Ayurvedic Healing For You?

Ayurvedic medicine has been around for about 3000 years. Originating in India, there have been many aspects of it that have flourished here in the states. Think about the practice of meditation, and the benefits it has in our busy lives. It gives us a chance to manage the stress we see every single day. Essential oils and aromatherapy also branch out from Ayurvedic Medicine. Yoga is another beneficial branch of the practice. There is also the nutritional aspect. The herb turmeric is renowned for its cleansing of toxins inside the body.

I have utilized every one of those branches of Ayurvedic holistic practices at one time or another in my own life. None of them have necessarily been used simultaneously. But rather, at the time that they presented themselves and at a time when I needed them most.

At their roots in India, Ayurvedic practices have been described as very earthy and even primitive. I have a friend who actually visited India for a good length of time and was able to participate in the native Ayurvedic Medicine. She said there were many  more varied techniques, different from the things we have taken and assimilated here in our western culture. She talked about extremely hot massage techniques with heated oils and stones, a cleansing steam treatment that encompassed everything except the head, and was extremely hot! She talked about healing medicine for the scalp that included invertebrates.

I love living in the U.S. because there are so many different cultures blended here, with various healing arts from food to medicines. It seems to me that the best mind and body techniques usually surface and become mainstream in some form or fashion. I love to take advantage of the best of these and incorporate them into my own life. For instance, during the past 6 months I started drinking an herbal Ayurvedic tea in the mornings and the results have been amazing! The hand excema that I usually get in the summer has been virtually eradicated. I feel like this drink has a lot to do with that!

I took the quiz and received an initial consultation for review purposes

I recently had the opportunity to have an Ayurvedic consultation with a dedicated practitioner and healer who is based out of Spain and lives in Ibizia, where the beautiful Balearic islands are located. She has dedicated her life to the Ayurvedic lifestyle and practices healing and health. Her name is Sophie Foucher and she is the founder of Sadhana Journey. She has an impressive resume of schooling and experience in India. Here is just some of what she has done to gain her knowledge and expertise.

  • Vedic Institute of India, Dr. Frawley, 2019
  • Mysore Ayurvedic Chakra House, Dr. Kumer, 2018
  • Chopra Center, 2016

Sophie Foucher

I took the initial free Ayurvedic Quiz, which gave Sophie the information needed so she could assess things like my overall health, diet, lifestyle, and even my core personality. From there, we scheduled a time to chat over Telegraph. I felt like she really nailed my personality and health needs. She recommended ways to cope with stress, foods to enjoy, foods to avoid, when to eat certain foods, how to best cope with stress and even gave me some relationship tips. I feel like it gave me a general map to improve my overall health, but not all the specifics. For that, I would need to have a more extended and guided instruction over the course of a few days or even months. I love her calm voice and her very peaceful way of communicating what would be a good path for me to take in terms of my overall health and well-being.

There is one package that I thought was really interesting, which is the Cleanse Package. According to Ayurvedic medicine, spring and fall are the best times to maintain health. One does that by doing an overall guided cleanse. Sophie does that by giving you daily food guidelines, daily routines for body, mind, and spirit along with special Ayurvedic recipes. I like the idea of the maintenance of our health, which is something one does on an annual or semi-annual basis. We maintain our homes, our cars, and our relationships by doing things periodically to strengthen them, clean out the old, and infuse with new and vital nutrients. It makes a lot of sense!
