The Weight Loss Enigma - Permanently Lose Those 10 Elusive Pounds

Do a bit of research online and you would definitely be forgiven for thinking that losing weight is an easy and simple process. More than that, there are a lot of guides online that suggest losing weight should be a rapid process, taking just a few weeks. However, this is a fallacy. The reality is that losing weight can take quite a long time and if you lose it too fast then it can have negative consequences. One possible side effect of losing weight too quickly is that you might find that you develop prominent stretch marks because you have transformed fat into muscle too quickly. Still, if losing weight is taking a lot longer than you expected, there are a few problems that you might need to address.

Your Metabolism

First, you might find that the problem is you have a slow metabolism. A slow metabolism will mean that it takes significantly longer to lose weight or put on muscle than other people. The good news is that there are ways to speed up your metabolism. This can be as simple as drinking a nice cold glass of water in the morning to start the day. In addition, you could think about exploring additional help like NAD. According to a recent 2017 Harvard study, NAD provides the sustenance your body needs to boost your metabolism.

A little trick I personally use each day is to put 2 Tbsp. of Bragg’s Apple Cider “Miracle Cleanse” Vinegar into a 4 oz. glass of water, along with some lemon juice and a scoop of FiberWise fiber, with psyllium husk. I chug it down as quickly as possible.

The Wrong Exercise

Next, you need to think about the exercise routine you’re using. It might shock you to learn that different exercise routines will provide different results. The routine you need to build muscle won’t be the same as the routine to lose weight. Some types of exercise are also going to be more effective for dropping those pounds. For instance, you might want to think about going swimming. Research shows that certain types of swimming such as breaststroke could be great for losing weight in certain parts of the body.

It’s also important to choose the type of exercise based on your current position and your future goals. If you just want to tone up, you can try the ninety second workout routine. However, this won’t work for you if you’re trying to drop a serious amount of weight in a relatively short period.

Too Much Down Time

Finally, it’s possible that when you’re working out, there is just far too much downtime between workout sessions. I’ve found that  to be true when I’ve been trying to get into a regular workout routine. It’s far too easy to make excuses about why today isn’t a good day to work out. I’ve found that a good work out buddy is key for accountability and enjoying a workout.  I treasure the workout partner I found recently. She really helps me keep motivated!

Also, if you’re taking too many breaks when you are working out then you are going to lose any momentum that you build up. Ideally, you should use a stopwatch to make sure that you are not pausing for too long. This is particularly important when you are lifting weights. You should try and make sure that there are about ninety seconds between different sets. If you do this, then you’ll be able to guarantee that you do see the absolute best results.

I hope this helps you understand some of the reasons why losing weight could be taking longer than you anticipated and what you can do about this. With the right steps, you will see the results you want a lot quicker than before!
