Before we go anywhere else, please note: Bamboo is antimicrobial! What does that mean? It means that it actually halts the spread of dangerous bacteria! There has been debate back and forth about this for awhile. Many folks have believed that the benefits of bamboo are killed in the manufacturing process, but not so. A study in 2011 took all of these concerns into account when they published their findings that bamboo is 75% more likely to kill off unwanted bacteria than other fibers, specifically cotton!
What does that mean for you? It means that your bamboo clothing and bedding can protect you more than ordinary fibers! Ideally, we should be changing our bedding every week. But I'll be the first one to wager that we're not all doing that. In the absence of that weekly chore, you can at least protect yourself from one of the gross things that happen--accumulation of staph, e-coli, and other microscopic substances! Bamboo sheets and pillow cases are, one more time, Antimicrobial!!!
